Havana, July 28 (RHC)-- A delegation from the Union of Young Communist Cubans (UJC) is participating in the Summit of the Youth Network of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), which is being held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to unite the voices of the youth.

Suniel Sosa Cordero, head of the International Relations Department of the UJC, explained that the appointment - until next Friday in this nation that holds the pro tempore presidency of the bloc since 2019 - represents an important opportunity for youth articulation on the basis of the fundamental principles of the Mnoal.

"In the midst of a complex international context, characterized by multiple crises, aggravated by the devastating pandemic of COVID-19, which is a high challenge and highlights the vitality of strengthening ties between youth organizations, for the sake of mutual learning, cooperation and preservation of historical memory, comes this summit to unify our nations," highlighted the youth leader.

As part of his speech at the meeting, Sosa Cordero explained how Cuba faces many challenges in the face of destabilization campaigns and media manipulation by the United States. Likewise, he argued that the enemies of the people and their Revolution intend to impose the false image of a youth distanced from the values of the historic generation, "an unrealizable and completely unattainable aspiration".

On the other hand, he emphasized that the NAM is the most important mechanism for political coordination among the countries of the South, of which Cuba is a founder. "We are grateful for its categorical position in defense of the inalienable right of the Antillean people to self-determination and to continue building an independent, democratic, prosperous and sustainable society," he said.

He also thanked the historic condemnation and rejection by the Non-Aligned countries of the blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades against the Caribbean nation, as well as the Helms-Burton Act. The youth leader confirmed Cuba's decision to continue cooperating with the peoples who demand it, "under the principle of sharing what we have, not giving what we have too much".
