Havana, Dec 18 (RHC) "Delegates are the basis of the People's Power system and soldiers in the front line in defense of the Revolution," said the member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State.
During his speech at the closing of the constitutive session of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power of Arroyo Naranjo, in which he participated as deputy elected by this territory; Lazo Hernandez stressed that on December 17 these bodies were constituted throughout the country. This is a transcendental step of our socialist democracy after the recent election process held throughout Cuba.
He emphasized that the delegates have the high responsibility of representing their constituents, not only to transfer the problems but also to seek solutions.

Esteban Lazo talked about the creation of the People's Power, then he pointed out that among the fundamental processes of the coming administration were the rendering of accounts to the electors, a moment to make known the work developed in the representation of the community, and to inform about aspects related to the district, the people's council, the municipality, the province, and the country, as well as to promote collective analysis in the search for solutions with popular participation.
The member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee also referred to the strengthening of the autonomy of the municipality, as provided in the Constitution of the Republic and by principles of solidarity, coordination, and collaboration, with the rest of the territories of the country and without detriment to the higher interests of the nation.
Finally, he acknowledged the work carried out by the Electoral Council and the Municipal Nominations Commission and congratulated the new leadership of the Assembly and the delegates who took office today (Source: ACN).
