The tour, led by Armando García Delgado, first secretary of the Young Communist League (UJC) in the province, covered the municipalities of Los Arabos, Colón, Perico, Jovellanos, Limonar, and Matanzas, while on the eighth day, they will visit Cárdenas to remember José Antonio Echeverría, FEU´s eternal president.
In all localities, there were acts of remembrance, which culminated at night in front of the headquarters of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, in Libertad Park, where Fidel addressed the people of Matanzas on January 7, 64 years ago.
His speech of several hours from a balcony was evoked with the certainty that his ideas live on in the new generations.
At the Libertad Park, in the presence of hundreds of people from Matanzas and the highest authorities of the territory, a political and cultural gala took place, an opportunity to recognize the combatants of that heroic deed.
García Delgado recalled the historic feat of the "barbudos" while ratifying the unconditional commitment of the new generations to the present challenges of the nation (Source: Escambray).
