Havana, Jan 19 (RHC) Cuban Justice Minister Oscar Silvera met with ambassadors from European Union (EU) countries to give continuity to the bilateral political dialogue.
On the social network Twitter, Silvera said that the meeting is part of the Cuba-EU Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, implemented in 2017 which constitutes the guiding instrument of bilateral relations.
According to the cited source the meeting was characterized by a sincere, open, respectful, and profitable conversation. The meeting was also attended by deputy ministers and general directors of the Ministry of Justice.
Cuba and the EU relaunched their relations in 2016 with the signing of the Agreement that put an end to two decades of the so-called common position, which conditioned the relations of the community bloc to demands considered unacceptable by the island.
This document allowed intensifying cooperation and generated opportunities for exchange on issues of mutual interest, such as human rights, unilateral coercive measures, and sustainable development. (Source: Prensa Latina)
