Havana, Feb 5 (RHC) This Sunday, the Municipal Assembly of People's Power of Gibara held an extraordinary session, which unanimously nominated two candidates for deputies to the Cuban Parliament.
As established by the Electoral Law (Law 127,), the local Candidacy Commission presented the proposals in the voice of its president Marisela Chapman, who highlighted the democracy and transparency of this process that began last year.
Once the proposals were put to vote, the representatives of the 98 districts of Gibara, unanimously approved Sonia Adelaida Chacón Fernández, delegate of District 64, and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.
Before the vote, the delegates to the Municipal Assembly of People's Power had the opportunity to express their opinions on the candidates for deputies. They highlighted the patriotic and revolutionary qualities of the nominees.
Starting tomorrow, February 6, and until March 24, the candidates will visit the territories they will represent to talk with the population. (Source: Radio Rebelde)
