Cuban Education Minister recognizes the quality of education in the western province

Havana, March 10 (RHC) Cuban Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velázquez recognized the quality of the educational teaching process in the western province of Pinar del Río.

 

The result is a work of all: teachers and students, which also involves other agencies such as the University of Pinar del Rio, the provincial directorates of Culture, and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, among others, she said.

 

She also highlighted the role played by members of organizations such as the Federation of High School Students, the Federation of University Students, the Union of Young Communists, and the José Martí Pioneers Organization.

 

She called for strengthening ties with the university to promote research in pursuit of doctoral projects that put science and innovation at the service of education, one of the pillars of the government's administration.

 

The Continuous Improvement of the General Education System initiative, which rules the work of the teaching staff in Pinar del Río, has been implemented in the territory since 2020 and structures the actions aimed at raising the quality of teaching.

Pinar del Río is in conditions to advance more in the educational teaching process, in quality, which is the formation of values, said the head of the institution.

 

When a center has full coverage, there is a guarantee of exemplary teachers, proper functioning, and student follow-up, she said.

 

The teachers discussed the strategy for the preparation of future teachers and the attention to the first year, where 482 new students entered the different pedagogical specialties.

 

According to the minister, the biggest challenge for the sector in Vueltabajo is to continue this year's recovery from the effects of Hurricane Ian, which has kept more than 40 schools relocated to family homes and other places. (Source: ACN).
