Havana, April 22 (RHC) - Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today remembered Adriana Corcho Calleja and Efrén Monteagudo Rodríguez, victims of a terrorist attack against Cuba's embassy in Portugal on April 22, 1976.
Historical documents reveal that the diplomats were killed 47 years ago by a bomb explosion at the Caribbean nation's embassy in Lisbon, Portugal.
According to testimonies, when detecting the device in the offices of the representation, Adriana Corcho notified the rest of the officials and workers of the headquarters about the situation.
Every year the island's Foreign Ministry recalls the sad event, which was part of a chain of terrorist acts sponsored by the United States Central Intelligence Agency with the aim of weakening and destroying the Cuban Revolution. This was one of the 165 terrorist attacks carried out between 1974 and 1976 against Cuban representations and diplomats in 24 countries.
