Prime Minister of Vietnam receives Cuban Minister of Justice
Havana, June 16 (RHC) Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh today received in Hanoi the Minister of Justice of Cuba, Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, who is on a working visit to the country.
At the meeting, Pham highlighted the special friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, and stated that Vietnam will do everything possible to support Cuba.
He recalled that Vietnam recently agreed to support Cuba in two agricultural and, according to the VNA news agency, asked that the two parties coordinate to guarantee their effective implementation.
The Vietnamese head of government congratulated the results of the meeting between the justice ministers of both countries and welcomed the proposal made by the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice to develop a technical assistance project for its Cuban counterpart in the preparation of laws that meet the needs for the materialization of the Constitution of 2019.
He affirmed that Vietnam is willing to share with the Cuban side its experiences of the renewal process, including the work of elaboration and improvement of the legal system and the reform of the Judiciary.
The prime minister requested that Cuba offer optimal conditions for Vietnamese investments in the island, and that both parties closely coordinate the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the visit of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to the liberated zone of South Vietnam.
The Cuban minister, for his part, expressed the desire that Vietnam support Cuba in legal and judicial development, especially in the application of information technologies, digital transformation and the training of human resources.
Before the meeting with Pham, Silvera held official talks with his counterpart Le Thanh Long, who reiterated his country's gratitude to the Cuban Communist Party, State and people for their solidarity and support for the cause of the Vietnam national liberation.
Thanh Long and Silvera visited the Traditional Hall of the Vietnam Ministry of Justice and offered incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh.
According to the program for this Friday, the delegation of Cuban jurists will hold a meeting with directors of the Vietnam Federation of Lawyers and will visit the Hanoi Law University. (Source: PL)
