Cuban health professionals carry out scientific day in Angola
Havana, Dec 23 (RHC) Health professionals from Cuba held a scientific conference converted into a space for exchange and reflection on relevant topics of medical practice in Angola.
Held at the Dom Alexandre do Nascimento hospital complex for cardiopulmonary ailments, and with the presence of Cuban ambassador Oscar León, the event allowed the results of the research of Cubans and Angolans linked to the health sector to be presented.
Sponsored by the Meditex S.A Clinic, the 5th National Scientific Conference and 2nd Virtual Scientific Conference, addressed thematic axes linked to the reinforcement of the Health Development Program, defined by the Ministry of Health of Angola for next year.
During the inauguration, Dr. Regla Angulo offered a keynote lecture on the island's health system, which gave way to debates in different commissions.
Presentations of works on thyroid surgery, healing of septic wounds, Guillain-Barré syndrome in pediatrics, congenital malformation of the late type II pulmonary airway and on primary retroperitoneal tumor, among others, took place during the morning and part of the afternoon.
Such research, born during the provision of services, is aimed at generating and sharing knowledge, skills and abilities for the work of saving lives.
Cuba has around 1,100 collaborators in the health sector in Angola, including specialists and technicians, distributed throughout all the provinces of the country, and who also contribute to the training of Angolan professionals. (Source: PL)
