The new platform for managing electronic tourist visas will replace the current tourist card

Havana, May 3 (RHC) The Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García, reported this Thursday during the inauguration of the 42nd International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2024, that the island will implement a new system of electronic visa that will replace the current tourist card.

García added that the new mechanism will be implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Immigration and Foreigners.

For its part, the Cuban Foreign Ministry explained that this new platform for the management of tourist visas named Evisa, is a modern electronic tourist visa management system that will allow a more efficient and agile service to users who request it through Cuban consular offices abroad.

With Evisa, applicants will be able to start their visa process virtually, from any device connected to the Internet.

This platform simplifies the visa application and management process, eliminating the need for additional physical documents. In addition to its ease of use, it also stands out for its friendliness and contribution to environmental protection.

This initiative seeks to strengthen security and efficiency in all stages of the tourist visa process, from the initial application to border control. According to the statement, Cuba is moving with Evisa towards the implementation of a more modern consular system adapted to current needs. (Source: PL)
