Patria International Colloquium comes to a close in Cuba

Havana, March 19 (RHC) The fourth edition of the Patria International Colloquium, which brings together approximately 400 participants from nearly 50 nations, comes to a close today in Havana after three days of discussions on the influence of technology in the realm of communication.

The agenda for this Wednesday includes the conference «Reprogramming the network: media strategies to counteract polarization and hate speech in digital spaces», featuring speakers from Brazil, Spain, and Venezuela.

Similarly, communicators and journalists from Venezuela, Argentina, and Bolivia will discuss the topic of «Technologies for liberation: alternative communication and information sovereignty in the Global South».

The event, hosted by the University of Havana, will also explore the various media forms of resistance to hegemony, as well as the strategies employed by developing nations to combat the information supremacy of the West.

The colloquium will culminate with a Final Declaration on the importance of strengthening the counter-hegemonic media worldwide. (Source: Prensa Latina)
