Havana, April 15 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reaffirmed Cuba's solidarity with Palestine and other Arab nations in the face of Israeli aggression.  He met this Tuesday with Sherif Reda Ahmed Shehata, Egypt's ambassador to Cuba, in Havana.

Following the meeting, Cuba's foreign minister said they held a very productive meeting.   "I received the Egyptian ambassador, Sherif Reda Ahmed Shehata, with whom I discussed the friendly bilateral ties between Egypt and Cuba and the desire to strengthen them in various areas.  I reaffirmed our solidarity with Palestine and other Arab nations," Rodríguez wrote on the social media platform X.

Last year, 2024, both countries opened new horizons in their relations by signing several agreements as a result of the visit to Cuba by Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population.

These commitments relate to the areas of pharmaceutical production and regulation covered by the health registration between the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment, and Medical Devices and the Egyptian medical-pharmaceutical company Acdima.

Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Egypt began on September 5, 1949.
