Havana, December 8 (RHC)-- Representatives from Cuba and the United States are holding a meeting today in Havana on claims regarding property nationalized by Cuba after 1959, as well as damage inflicted on the Cuban people by the over-50-year U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade.
The U.S. State Department has said this initial meeting will allow the two sides to exchange information on a wide variety of claims, including those of U.S. nationals whose properties were nationalized.
Cuba has repeatedly stated at international forums, including the United Nations, that the economic damage inflicted by the blockade reaches 833 billion.
