Havana, June 22 (RHC)-- The head of the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Maria Contreras-Sweet concluded a working visit to Cuba on Tuesday.
During her stay here, Contreras-Sweet met with Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca, who briefed her on the update of the Cuban economic model, the National Economic Development Plan through 2030 and the performance of different Cuban economic sectors, as well as on the negative impact of the U.S. blockade on the Cuban economy and relations with the United States.
The distinguished visitor also met with senior officials with Cuba's Domestic Trade and Social Security ministries.
Other activities included a visit to the Mariel Special Development Zone, where she learned about investment opportunities.
