With only three months and two weeks away from the presidential elections in the United States, the current President and candidate for re-election, Donald Trump, is in the midst of a crisis which is getting worse every day due to his own uncontrolled actions.

The United States is fast approaching the figure of four million infections by COVID-19, and has already exceeded 140,000 dead, however The Donald and his team not only seem be to unaware but also fight against those who know about this matter and could contribute to alleviating the situation.

Such is the case of the prestigious epidemiologist Dr. Anthony Fauci, who became a target of cruel attacks, even from members of the Trump administration.  For instance, Trump's trade advisor published an article in the newspaper USA Today, saying that Fauci "has always been wrong” regarding the health crisis.

Donald Trump insists on keeping the U.S. economy open, in spite of the sanitary situation of the country, due to the severity of COVID-19.  The coronavirus pandemic is harshly affecting Florida, a key state for the aspirations of the president and chosen to hold the national convention of the Republican party next month in the city of Jacksonville.

As stated by former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, staying in power is a goal that goes beyond any limits for The Donald, not only from an ethical or political point of view.  Whether tens of thousands of citizens must die in order to accomplish his objective, is not something over which he loses sleep.

And if he must break the law, he is also willing to do so, as he himself announced when stated that the upcoming elections are corrupt and deceitful, a clever move to disregard an eventual adverse result and refuse to hand over the presidency.

According to a study conducted by The Washington Post newspaper, Trump has told 20 thousand lies in the last 14 months, or 23 falsehoods every day -- an average of nearly one per hour.  The most repeated lie in recent times is that "everything is under control” in the United States.

Furthermore, the unpredictable president has just opened another war front when he sent federal troops to suppress social protests in the city of Portland, Oregon, over the objections of local authorities.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosemblum filed a lawsuit in federal court and Mayor Ted Wheeler said that the there’s increasing tension in Portland.

The danger hangs over Trump and the White House, and no one doubts that the scenario will be violent and decisive.
