Cubans are at the doorstep of exercising the suffrage again, as a political and participatory right, in accordance with the Constitution and the Electoral Law and the principles of society.

The election of deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power next 26th implies a free action, because it is a citizen's right to vote or not.

It will be secret, to guarantee the expression of the individual criteria, equal and direct, because the holder intervenes in the selection of his representatives, now to the highest body of state power.

These are basic principles of the nation's governing documents, known to Cubans, who will now determine whether the proposals on the ballot are of interest to them.

Before them is the option to vote for one, two or more, or for all, among candidates over 18 years of age, because they have the capacity to represent the State, contribute to the formation of laws and the adoption of significant decisions for the economic, social and political life.

The elected deputies may also be members of the Council of State, the permanent representative body of the parliament.

So much responsibility for them leads the voters to think of the need to carefully analyze their endorsement and trajectory, to the extent that they also act as the main point of communication with other levels of power.

Always exposed to popular control, future Cuban deputies will endorse a genuinely democratic representative activity.

Cuba implemented the People's Power, consisting of the full exercise of sovereignty by the people through the various forms of organization of the State.

The basic cell is the constituency, where the delegate emerges, nominated and elected in neighborhood assemblies to integrate the Municipal Assembly, to which he/she carries the voice of his/her electors.

A part of these grassroots delegates make up the National Assembly of People's Power in the proportion and according to the procedure determined by law.

In this way, together with the remaining candidates for deputies proposed by mass organizations, the Cuban parliament stands as a reflection of the diverse society and embodies a fair democratic system.

It does not matter that abroad the right wing and the hegemonic press affront it.

Cubans will elect their deputies with the premise of upholding the People's Power as an essential pillar, capable of perfecting it.
