The year we are starting will be complex in the United States due to the celebration of the presidential, legislative and gubernatorial elections in the midst of many internal and international pressures that will put citizens in more than one predicament when deciding their vote.

The most relevant thing is undoubtedly to opt for the next tenant of the White House, for whose keys fight so far the same candidates of the previous event, the unpredictable tycoon Donald Trump and a disappointing Joseph Biden who is far below the expectations of his compatriots.

As is well known, for Trump the road to the oval office is a real obstacle course, especially from the legal point of view as he has accumulated several lawsuits including one, that of rebellion, which could put an end to his political career.

Just last Saturday was the third anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Parliament headquarters in Washington and all eyes are on the former president as the main organizer of the embarrassing spectacle, which shattered the myth of perfect democracy in that power.

In addition, he has fiscal problems and unresolved skirt affairs.

But Biden is not at ease either because his unconditional support to the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is beginning to take its toll, both at home and abroad.

A few days ago there was a demonstration in the California Congress where, among other things, groups of people called attention to how Zionist bestialities in the Middle East are carried out with bombs, shells and other equipment manufactured in the United States.

One of the signs demanded that the government devote the taxes paid by ordinary people to improving health, housing, education and the fight against climate change, not to war elsewhere in the world.

Senator Bernie Sanders said, "U.S. taxpayers should no longer be complicit in destroying the lives of innocent men, women and children in Gaza. Together we have to find a better way forward.

"But there is another more complex issue for Biden, and that is that if the lawsuit brought by South Africa against Israel before the International Criminal Court is successful, the U.S. government will be seated in the dock as a co-perpetrator of serious crimes against humanity.

Can you imagine a scenario where the citizen of that country would have to choose between a common criminal and a war criminal?    Amazing, isn't it?
