Gente de Zona: one of the world's top urban music groups

Havana, September 7 (RHC) – The Cuban urban music duo Gente de Zona held a unique concert Saturday evening in the Cuban capital to close summer activities and celebrate the city’s 500th anniversary.

At the concert held at Havana’s Malecón or Seaside Drive, the duet, made up of Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, delighted audiences with some of the group’s greatest hits plus tunes of its most recent album. The CD is the duo’s fourth studio album and consists of 16 tunes, which include successful songs, such as Si No Vuelves, Te Duele and El Mentiroso, plus collaborations with Latin celebrities, such as Franco de Vita, Gustavo Lima, Kelvis Ochoa, Gilbero Santa Rosa and other performers. Gente de Zona is one of the island’s urban music groups best known worldwide. It has been awarded with more than 20 international prizes and managed to place itself in a privilege position in its genre.

The Havana event is part of  the ‘Otra Cosa Tour’, which is promoting its most recent production. Premiered May 24 on all digital platforms, Otra Cosa includes other rhythms and sounds which keep positioning Gente de Zona on top of the urban music podium. Delgado and Malcom told Prensa Latin news agency that they are happy to come back to Cuba and be able to sing for their fellow countrymen and women. Following the concert, the duo will continue the tour, which is scheduled to take them to the United States and Europe. Its previous Havana concert took place in June, 2018, at the Sports City Coliseum, in which Italy’s Laura Pausini was the special guest and performed for an audience of nearly 25 thousand people.
