Havana, June 10 (RHC)-- Singer Omara Portuondo –the Diva of Buena Vista Social Club-- seems unstoppable, as she remains very active at the age of 90, even amidst Covid-19.
The renowned Cuban artist wrote on Facebook that she is working really hard, rehearsing for her upcoming presentation at Fila U Summer Festival in Mallorca, Spain, on July 25th.
Omara also commented on the release of new tracks from her latest album, recorded during the months of quarantine and social distancing due to covid-19.
The ‘Novia del Filing’, as she is also known, mentioned several Cuban and foreign artists who collaborate with her in this latest album, among them Amaury Pérez, Alexander Abreu, Orquesta Failde, Gaby Moreno, Carlos Rivera, Andy Montañéz, Rubén Blades, Dionne Warwick, Raphael, Susana Baca and Natalia Lafourcade.
The second track of the album, conceived by Omara to celebrate her 90th birthday is accompanied by a music video, directed by young talented Cuban video maker Joseph Ross.
