Eduardo Sandoval presents Chappottin in Memoriam

Havana, July 15 (RHC)-- Cuban trombone player Eduardo Sandoval released his latest album entitled ‘Chappottin in Memoriam’ under Abdala Records label. It includes ten tracks, in homage to Havana trumpet player Félix Chappottin.

The new album, the artist’s fourth as a soloist, includes footage of the concert that Sandoval gave in 2020 at Teatro Nacional de Cuba in the framework of the Jazz Plaza Festival. For the concert, Sandoval was accompanied by the emblematic Conjunto Chappottin and a Big Band, formed by renowned musicians from different generations, conducted by Eduardo Sandoval himself.

The trombone player said it has been one of the greatest challenges of his career.

A graduate from Cuba’s most prestigious music academies, Eduardo Sandoval is considered one of the most enigmatic and most cutting edge contemporary trombone players.

He has toured extensively in Cuba and internationally. He has collaborated with Omara Portuondo, Buena Fe (including Venezuelan tour), Raul Paz (including tours in France, Martinique and Guadeloupe), Alain Peréz, Alexander Abreu, Alain Daniel, X Alfonso, Bobby Carcassés, Big Band of Joaquin Betancourt, Camerata Romeu, Big Band of Giraldo Piloto, Leoni Torres, Michel Herrera, Yasek Manzano, Isaac Delgado (including US and European tours), Los Van Van and Habana Jazz Collective amongst others.
