Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- Cuba’s record and musical editions Company EGREM has released a new album by David Calzado and Charanga Habanera, entitled "Soy yo".

The timba album includes previously unpublished tunes written by composer Evaristo Aparicio, better known as "El Pícaro" or "Papá Cun Cun".

David Calzado is a bandleader, music director, arranger, and lead vocalist of his band Charanga Habanera. Regarded as an essential figure in the evolution of modern Cuban music, under his leadership, Charanga Habanera is considered a great exponent of Cuban rhythms, specially timba.

They have toured extensively around the world, performing in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, and Sweden.
