Formell y Los Van Van
Havana, Feb. 10 (RHC)—Cuba’s popular music band Formell y los Van Van will embark on a European tour, set for July 13th through August 14th, in the frameworks of celebrations on their 50th anniversary.
Sponsored by Yslaproductions, the one-month-long tour will include performances in Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark and Portugal.
In a related news story, the single “Pa´ los Mayores y los Van Van” by Maikel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor and Formell y los Van Van, won the PISTACUBANA AWARDS in six categories, including Best Song of 2021.
Both Cuban bands Maikel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor and Formell y los Van Van are great exponents of songo music, created by maestro, the late Juan Formell, who founded Los Van Van in 1969.
Based on the vote of professionals of the Cuban music industry and the general Cuban public alike. PISTACUBANA website chose “Pa´ los Mayores y los Van Van” as the winner in five other categories, including Best Orhestra Performance in 2021 and Best Salsa and Timba Music Collaboration of the Year.
