San Jose, April 24 (RHC)-- The members of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) returned to their country today after being applauded in two performances in Costa Rica for the virtuosity and mastery of its consecrated and novice figures.

At the conclusion of their two performances this Sunday at the Melico Salazar Theater in the capital, the audience cheered for several minutes to the Cuban dancers, who showed their commitment and passion in the different works, some classical and others contemporary.

As in the first performance, in the second, the show began with the contemporary work La forma del rojo, followed by Sui Generis, with prima ballerina Gretel Morejón, La muerte de un Cisne and the first act concluded with the Suite de Don Quijote, masterfully performed by the couple Anette Delgado and Dani Hernández.

In the second act, the prima ballerina and director of the BNC, Viengsay Valdés, was wonderful, according to the audience, who recognized her virtuosity and mastery with loud applause and cheered her for several minutes in her interpretation of the classic Adagio from the second act of Swan Lake.

The beautiful and applauded presentation of the BNC concluded with Majísimo, while the audience did not cease to express their admiration for a rare show in this country, but very appreciated by Costa Ricans.

In declarations to Prensa Latina, Valdés was very pleased with the reception given to the BNC in Costa Rica and pointed out that it is a ballet-savvy audience, because they applauded every virtuosity of the dancers, as well as highlighting the attendance of President Rodrigo Chaves and his wife, Signe Zeikate, to the first performance.

"We are happy. It's coming back with a new triumph (it was here in 2017). I think this deserves a tour of the BNC in Latin America, especially this year when we celebrate the 75th anniversary of created by the late prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso," he stressed.

Now, he indicated, almost without resting, we are going this week to Spain where we will have presentations from April 29 to May 25, something he considered very necessary for the members of the company so that they can have more and more experiences and triumphs on the stage, as the BNC has always had.

For her part, the producer of Interamericana Producciones S.A., Flor Carreras, expressed "her pride and satisfaction for having once again brought the Cuban company, which is of the highest order, and which continues to always give people something to talk about, thrilling the audience that gave them a standing ovation in the two performances they had".
