Los Angeles, May 17 (RHC) -- The Disney+ platform has already scheduled the release date of the new sequel to Avatar, another of the blockbusters to which James Cameron has accustomed us since Titanic.
This installment starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña and Sigourney Weaver, -remembered for Alien: The Eighth Passenger 1979- will be released to the public in early June, a decade after the events of the first film in the distant date of 2009, the site revealed.
Avatar: The Way of Water hit theaters in December 2022 and begins with the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children).
The problems that arise in their environment are the ones that thread this plot, how they are able to face each of the adversities and what they do to protect each other.
Their characters fight battles to preserve their lives and endure tragedies that will make them stronger, according to the Disney+ publication, referring to the film's official synopsis.
According to the digital site Box Office Mojo, Avatar: The Way of Water has so far grossed more than two million 320 thousand dollars worldwide, placing it in third place among the highest-grossing films in history, surpassed only by its sister Avatar (part one) and Avengers: Endgame.
The producer of the second film, Jon Landau, revealed to the press that the third installment was already confirmed.
"We were not only in the shooting of the second, but also of the third and the first act of the fourth film," he stated.
The next productions even have release dates: Avatar 3 is scheduled to arrive on December 20, 2024; Avatar 4, on December 18, 2026, and the fifth may be released on December 22, 2028.
As shown, all december, almost always as usual Cameron's team, despite the fact that they stopped at a certain time due to the pandemic, because since 2018 or so the filmmaker announced part of the complete saga and the successive releases.
At the moment no details of the plot are known, although Cameron dropped an important piece of information about the future of this blockbuster.
"We would like a new villain in that world, someone out of Pandora, the public will be very happy," he said, according to revelations of the site The Direct.
