Havana, June 13 (RHC)-- An exceptional exhibition will be inaugurated next Friday, June 16, at the Goldsmith Museum, in this capital, as a new tribute to Cuban Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, cultural media report today.
Entitled Lauros, the exhibition will display until next Sunday a priceless set, carefully chosen from among the numerous trophies, orders, medals, distinctions and plaques received by Alicia throughout her long and brilliant career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher.
This event is a joint action with the National Museum of Dance, according to a note from Cubaescena.
The exhibition will showcase the awards given to Alicia as theaters, festivals, competitions, universities and states from very different latitudes expressed their respect for this ballet diva.
So did groups of artists and intellectuals and international organizations, who expressed their deep respect and admiration for the genius of the great Cuban artist.
This is a well-deserved tribute to Alonso and also to one of her most cherished legacies: the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), Cultural Heritage of the Nation, highlighted La Jiribilla.
This year the BNC is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and it also marks 8 decades since Alicia Alonso's debut in one of her most famous characters: Giselle. (Source:PL)
