Havana, October 2 (RHC) --The presentation of the book Bolivia, el Che y una historia no contada, by Argentine writer Leda Berlusconi, will kick off a program of homage in Bolivia to the guerrilla commander on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of his assassination.
The Argentine embassy to Bolivia informed Prensa Latina on Sunday that the book will be presented on October 4 (18:00 local time) at the Plurinational State's vice-presidential headquarters in the presence of the author.
This work reflects an investigation carried out by Berlusconi, who in 2013 traveled to Cochabamba together with revolutionary Luis Mattini in search of the testimony of ex-military officer Ruben Sanchez, who participated in 1967 in the campaign against the Guevarist guerrillas.
After that experience his life changed, to the point that in the 1970s he was persecuted by the military dictatorship he confronted and had to go into exile.
The Che Guevara Cultural Center of Vallegrande, department of Santa Cruz, on the other hand, announced a political-cultural program in homage to Comandante Ernesto Guevara in that area where he operated at the head of his troops and where he was assassinated by orders of the U.S. Government.
The activities will begin on October 7 with a craft fair, the screening of documentaries and a musical show.
In this context, the Videoteca Barbarroja will screen the Argentine film Libres, which in 20 minutes reflects the visit to Valle Grande and La Higuera of the five Cuban anti-terrorist heroes Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, René González and Antonio Guerrero.
They served long prison sentences in the United States because from that territory they alerted their country of terrorist actions against the Cuban people planned, executed and financed by extremist organizations based in Miami.
The audiovisual program includes the world premiere of the Argentinean documentary Hermanos de sangre, compañeros de Ideas, with the testimony of Juan Martín Guevara, who in 30 minutes narrates his family relationship with the Heroic Guerrilla.
Among the members of the solidarity movement with Cuba, the screening of Hasta la Victoria Siempre, by Santiago Alvarez, filmed at the Plaza de la Revolución, in Havana, 10 days after the fall of Che, on October 9, 1967, also generates expectations.
The program will conclude on October 8 with visits to historical places of the Ñancahuasú Guerrilla as the Mausoleum of Che, the Guerrilla's Grave of the group of Joaquín (Vilo Acuña) and Tania (Tamara Bunke), the Maita Hospital and the ascent to the area of La Higuera.
An official political act for the 56th anniversary of Che's assassination will take place in Valle Grande with the presence of political authorities, diplomatic delegations, social organizations, guests from the cultural sector and people in general. (Source: Prensa Latina)
