A group of important Cuban musicians will be celebrating the 260th birthday of Austrian musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Lecuona Hall of the recently reopened Havana’s Grand Theater Alicia Alonso on Saturday.
Excerpts of operas, such as Don Giovanni, the Magic Flute, Idomeneo, Cosí fan tutte and Mitridate will be sung by Cuban sopranos, Milagros de los Ángeles, Mayte Milián, Anisley Martínez, Indira Hechavarría, Cristina Rodríguez and Teresa Janet Senra and tenors Roger Quintana, Luis Javier Oropesa and Ricardo Medina, accompanied by pianist Marlon Bordas.
Sacred music will be represented by Mozart’s Esxultate Jubilate, sung by sopranos Ivette Betancourt, Laura D´Mare and countertenor, Lesby Bautista. The program also includes two instrumental pieces by clarinetist, Nieves del Río, pianist, Gabriel Chorens and the Móviles trio, directed by bassoom player, Osmany Hernández. The concert will be artistically directed by Ubail Zamora and generally directed by Roberto Chorens.
