The Pan-American torch arrived this Wednesday to the ancient Peruvian city of Caral, built 5000 years ago, to continue its journey to Lima, where the ancient flame of the games will be lit next Friday.
The torch was received by the Peruvian Minister of Transportation and Communication Maria Jara in Caral, about 173 km north to Lima.
The torch´s arrival in Caral, continues the tribute to the ancestral cultural tradition of the Pan-Am fire, a journey that began at the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico, and that on July 4th arrived in Machu-Pichu, in the sub-Andean region of Cusco, in Peru.
