The Cuban youth handball team qualified for the First Pan American Junior Games of Cali 2021
Havana, July 4 (RHC)-- The Cuban youth handball team qualified for the First Pan American Junior Games of Cali 2021, after defeating the Puerto Rican team by 34 goals to 25.
The Puerto Ricans started ahead on the scoreboard and with the obligation to win the game, after their defeat in the first day against the Mexican hosts.
However, our team showed their superiority and took the lead in the 11th minute of the second half and never lost it again.
Jover Hernandez's young players showed better physical conditions on the field of the Olympic Sports Center of Mexico and for the second consecutive day surpassed 30 goals.
For Cuba, the outstanding players were Frank Cordies from Granma and Hánser Rodríguez from Havana. With the qualification in hand, the Cubans will close the calendar this Saturday against the Aztecs, in a duel of pure formality.
The qualification of the handball players to Cali 2021 swells the delegation for a multisport event scheduled for November and December this year.
