Havana, November 5 (RHC/JIT) - Specialists from a dozen nations will share knowledge with counterparts during the IX International Convention on Physical Activity and Sport (Afide 2021), scheduled to be held online from November 17 to 19.

This was announced by Dr. C. Mélix Ilisástigui Avilés, executive secretary of the event and science director of Inder, during the monthly meeting of that organization with the national press hosted by the Adolfo Luque Hall of the Latin American Stadium.

Ilisástigui pointed out that experts from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, Italy and Ecuador, among others, will participate with master conferences.

He also pondered the growth of participants in the last week from 600 to 700, mostly from Cuba, including collaborators present in Mexico and Venezuela.

"Afide 2021 will open the conference Sport and Science in times of pandemic, by the president of Inder Osvaldo Vento Montiller," stressed the directive.

He also listed the workshops that will be given with contents related to doping, muscle strength, protection of sports information, training control and rehabilitation of the high-performance athlete.

He cited as part of the program the International Symposium on Sciences Applied to Baseball and Softball; the IX International Conference on High Performance Sports; the V International Workshop on Psychology in Physical Activity and Sports; and the VII Workshop on Administration and Management of Physical Culture and Sports. A vision from the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

The activities include the V Workshop Sport and Society: sustainable sport in the face of the objectives of the 2030 Agenda; the V International Workshop on Physical Education and Sport for All: sustainability in the face of the 2030 Agenda; the VII International Workshop on Continuing Education of Physical Culture Professionals and the Symposium on Medical Control of Sports Training.

The X Symposium on Therapeutic and Prophylactic Physical Culture: from healthy environments; the III Meeting of Research Centers and Sciences Applied to Sport and the VII International Workshop on Leisure, Free Time and Recreational Activities, their sustainability in the face of the 2030 Agenda will also be attractive.

Prior to the start of the scientific program on November 17, the National Meeting of Students and the VIII Meeting of Doctors of the Cuban Sports System will take place (15 and 16).
