Havana, December 12 (RHC)-- Cuban Cecilia Díaz Mesa continued her scoring streak, in the second spectacular victory of Red Star Belgrade, this time by a score of 13-12 against the host Szentes, from Hungary, in a duel of leaders of the Danube League.

The Serbian runner-up inflicted its first defeat on the Hungarian team, which was undefeated after seven games in the competition.

The club from the Serbian capital on its official website pointed out that the red-and-whites from Belgrade started very well, took the lead but Szentes equalized four times and went into the break with the score 7-7.

In the second half, the teams constantly changed the dominance, Red Star took the lead with a goal by Cuban Cecilia Diaz, then the Hungarians turned the score around and again the Serbian army took the lead, 10-9.

At the beginning of the last quarter, Szentes led again, but the red and white team scored three quick goals and, although the Hungarian team reduced the difference, it was not enough.

In the previous challenge on Saturday, Red Star overcame Mladost of Zagreb (Croatia) in another dizzying duel, where the Serbian team managed to win thanks to a partial score of 6-0 in the last half, with a highlight for the Cuban player, who sealed with one of her three goals the victory by a score of 11-10.

The Serbian team will finish this second round of the Danube League tomorrow against Dinamo Bucharest (Romania).
