Havana, December 25 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel congratulated via Twitter the country's best athletes, congratulating them for their achievements in the Martí Theater.
In the aforementioned social network, the dignitary remarked that Cuban sport is dressed in gala after the awarding of its best exponents. "The most outstanding athletes in individual and collective sports, as well as the disabled, were awarded. Congratulations champions," said the head of state.
On Thursday afternoon, in the emblematic artistic center, the Greco-Roman wrestler Mijaín López was honored as Best Athlete in the men's category, after winning his fourth Olympic crown in Tokyo.
In the women's category, the award went to judoist Idalys Ortiz, while among the disabled athletes, the award went to multi-champion Omara Durand.
