Havana, January 11 (RHC/PL)-- The Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences (Uccfd) in Havana is holding a tribute day for the Cuban Science Day.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the director of Extracurricular Training, Nivia Sanchez, said that researchers from the three centers of the university, professors and students will be recognized until January 14.
The Ministry of Higher Education, the Cuban Sports Institute, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, among other organizations, will participate in the celebration, she added.
The Uccfd is formed by the Center for Chess Studies, attached to the Latin American Higher Institute of Chess, which is in charge of promoting the practice of the science game in the country and in the continent.
Recently, this institution received a specialized classroom, which was inaugurated by President Miguel Díaz Canel, occasion in which its current director, Grand Master Vivian Ramón, announced the country's intention to organize another World Chess Olympiad.
The Center for the Study of Physical Activity, Sports and Health Promotion disclosed, on its part, the latest news on physical exercise.
In turn, the Center for the Study of Psychology Applied to Sports, deepens its work for the achievement of outstanding results.
In addition to these three centers located in the university's premises, there is the Cuban Sports Research Center, dedicated to the scientific study of grassroots, community and high-performance activities.
