Havana, January 13 (RHC)-- Cuba's Jasiel Rivero led Valencia Basket to another victory in Eurocup Group B with a 76×70 win over Germany's Ratiopharm, for his sixth win in a tournament that brings together 20 European clubs.
Rivero had 12 points, 11 rebounds, eight of them offensive, and two assists to reach a 21-digit rating, the highest of the Taronja team and the second highest he has reached personally in the competition.
Rivero started as a starter and stayed 22 minutes and 55 seconds on the court of the Arena Ratiopharm, in which he converted six baskets in field shots of eight possible, to raise to 109 the points scored and 46 the rebounds captured in the nine games played.
In the duel against the Teutons, in addition to Rivero, the local Jaime Pradilla, top scorer of the game with 15 points, and the American Mike Tobey, who left with 11 points, stood out.
With the victory over Ratiopharm, Valencia moves up to third place in Group B with six wins and three losses, behind Podgorica, from Montenegro, leader with 7-2, and Spanish Gran Canaria, which is second with 6-2 and one game less played.
In the next round, Joan Peñarroya's disciples will visit Promitheas Patras, from Greece, on January 19, in the beginning of the second round of the competition.
