Havana, January 19 (RHC)-- The Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE) appointed professor and experienced coach Eros Bernal Morales, who currently directs that discipline in Cuba, as president of the recently created baseball5 commission.
Bernal Morales comes to the Confederation with the task of designing and proposing training programs and competitive baseball5 events, which has gained ground in the world thanks to the push of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).
Bernal has been technical director of the first open tournament of the Americas, held with great success in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, and of two versions of the Baseball5 National Championship in his country. In addition, he has been certified by the WBSC for several years.
"We have received this appointment with great pleasure and humility, and it commits us to continue contributing hard to massify and develop Baseball5 in our Caribbean area," Eros commented to the organization.
"I thank President George de Lira for trusting in our country and in me to represent COCABE in this discipline," he added.
The president of COCABE, George de Lira, is satisfied and more than happy to have a person of great capacity and experience at the head of this new commission, which has a great challenge ahead: to bring to the Caribbean countries where baseball is not a traditional sport a more flexible option to be integrated into national and international competitions.
