Havana, August 22 (RHC)-- The Cuban women's volleyball team debuted with a 3-0 win over Canada in the Pan American Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico.

The Cubans dominated the first set 25-16, and then were also able to impose themselves against the fierce opposition of the Canadians with scores of 28-26 and 25-23.

The young prospect of 20 years old and 1.90 meters tall Deziret Madan was the top scorer of the Cuban team with 12 points, followed by Ailama Cesé (10), Gretel Moreno and Laura Suárez, both with 7, and Sulian Matienzo (6).

This Monday will be the second presentation of the Cubans against the Mexican team, which opened with a win against Nicaragua, also 3-0.
