Cuban Alfredo Despaigne hit his seventh home run in the most recent date in the Japan Professional Baseball League 2022 (NPB).

Havana, August 22 (JIT)-- Cuban Alfredo Despaigne hit his seventh home run in the most recent date in the Japan Professional Baseball League 2022 (NPB).   With that hit he towed a run and contributed to the 5x1 victory of the SoftBank Falcons over the Nippon Ham Fighters at the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka.

The Granma slugger, who had not homered since August 5, raised his average to .269 and his total number of hits to 19. His compatriot and teammate Yurisbel Gracial went 4-0 with a strikeout to lower his average to .286.

In the same game, Cuban Liván Moinelo allowed one hit without a run, struck out two opponents and gave up one ticket in one inning of relief to improve his effectiveness to 0.93.

In another game of the day, Pinar del Río's Raidel Martínez earned his 27th save of the year, after a perfect inning of relief. He helped the Chunichi Dragons to a 5x2 win over the Yakult Swallows at the Vantelin Dome in Nagoya.

The lanky right-hander, who picked up his fourth save of the month, improved his ERA to 1.11 and moved within three saves of the NPB Central League lead.

His compatriot and teammate Yariel Rodríguez also did not allow any hits or runs in one inning of relief to improve his effectiveness to 1.56. Dayán Viciedo went 3-1 with a single and a run scored to keep his average at .284.
