Agricultores celebrates victory
Havana, October 28 (ACN)-- With an 11-hit offense and Kelbis Rodriguez's second save, Agricultores defeated Tabacaleros 5-3 to remain alone at the top of the 1st Elite Baseball League, which dropped the curtains of its second particular sub-series.
The troop of mentor Carlos Martí hit 11 hits and managed to leave behind the offensive unproductiveness that had characterized them in the four previous duels, to win 2-1 their second consecutive game of the season.
The winning team decided the game in the third inning with a four-run score. Right fielder Alexquemer Sánchez, who went 3-3 with a triple and a tow, was the standout hitter.
The victory went to Yunier Castillo, who allowed seven hits and three clean runs in 5.2 episodes, while Kelbis Rodríguez pitched 3.1 innings with two hits allowed to earn his second save point.
Meanwhile, the Portuarios defeated Cafetaleros 10-5 with a decisive 10-run run in the third inning, in which they hit eight of their 11 hits, six of them in a row against starter and loser Carlos Font.
With the lumber for mentor Michael González's team, Alberto Calderón, who went 6-3 with one run batted in, stood out. Right-hander Yadián Martínez was successful despite conceding eight hits and five clean runs in 6.2 innings.
The game between Ganaderos and Centrales was suspended due to rain at the beginning of the fourth inning, when the scoreboard showed a comfortable 10-0 lead for mentor Armando Ferrer's Centrales.
