Old Italia

Havana, February 10 (PL) - A delegation of the 'Old Italia' soccer team is in Havana to meet with Cuban teams.

The Italian ambassador to Cuba, Roberto Vellano, and the consul, Guglielmo Pirrone, received the players at the diplomatic headquarters of the European nation, located in the Playa municipality of this capital.

The meeting revealed that the representatives of Old Italia will participate in local tournaments and solidarity initiatives with young Cuban soccer players.

Italy is one of the great pillars of international soccer, while Cuba has lagged behind in that sport in recent years, although it is gaining more and more followers.

With these exchanges of cooperation and development, the flame could be fanned to further encourage the practice of this discipline in the Caribbean island.
