Havana, June 29 (RHC) -- Cuba's National Institute of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) announced today through its Twitter account that repatriation will no longer be a requirement for Cubans living abroad to take part in events organized on the island.
"Having taken the necessary steps, we inform that repatriation is no longer a requirement for Cubans living abroad to take part in national events organized by Inder," can be read in the aforementioned social network of the Internet.
Although the biggest debates on the matter have arisen in baseball, there is no doubt that the decision will have an impact on other sports and disciplines.
The measure is part of the efforts to take advantage of all the talent trained by the revolutionary sport, both to give shine to the domestic games as well as to the teams of the four glorious letters.
From now on, it will be up to the different national commissions to update the regulations of their competitions, so that this decision takes effect immediately.
