Havana, July 13 (RHC) - The Cuban U-23 men's volleyball team is looking for its third straight victory in the Pan American Cup of that category this Thursday, when it faces Chile at the Havana Sports City Coliseum.

The line-up is completed with the Dominican Republic-Peru match, as Nicaragua will be free, since it was scheduled to play against Mexico, which at the last minute did not travel to Havana.

The Cubans achieved their second success in the Cup on Wednesday when they defeated Nicaragua 3-0 with easy scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-14, in one hour and 10 minutes of play on the court.

Jesús Cruz's students were led by center Thiago Suárez, top scorer of the match with 15 points.

Also outstanding for the Caribbeans were assistant José Ramón Gómez (13) and opposite Alejandro Miguel González (11).

It was Cuba's second success in the Cup, as on Tuesday they had beaten Peru 3-2.

The event will award two berths to the 2025 Pan American Junior Games to the top two teams of the North, Central American and Caribbean Confederation (Norceca).
