Canoing
Cuba's team of canoing will seek to reach 1st place by countries at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, in November.

Alejandro Hamze, president of the local federation, explained that the Caribbeans expect to compete in the 13 events convened to meet or exceed the results achieved in Cartagena de Indias 2006, when the balance was 9 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

The aquatic channel of the regional event to host the rowing and competencies from November 25th to 29th will be opened on November 21st.

Veracruz 2014

The Mexican state of Veracruz is ready for the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games, reaffirmed the state governor, Javier Duarte.

In the presence of ambassadors of the area, Duarte reiterated that Veracruz competitions will be the best within the regional games.

From Xalapa, capital of the state, the governor said this week began the delivery of the venues for the Games, set to take place from November 14th to 30th.

He said the participation of athletes from 31 countries who will compete in first class facilities is expected.

Some of these spaces were renovated, while others were newly created as the velodrome in Xalapa, Mexico's most modern, he said.

In each of the six venues, the cities of Veracruz, Boca del Rio, Xalapa, Córdoba, Tuxpan and Coatzacoalcos, athletes will find the perfect place and conditions for their maximum performance, the governor said.

Veracruz will receive nearly 6,000 athletes and coaches from 31 countries, as well as 1,600 judges and technical staff, the source said.

The governor received the ambassadors of Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, who were briefed on the preparations for the games, local media reported.
