Havana, July 1 (RHC) - The Cuban baseball postseason continues this Monday with four games. The eight teams involved in the playoffs will be in action.

On Sunday, Santiago and Matanzas won their games and took comfortable advantages over their rivals.

Las Avispas de Santiago de Cuba defeated Industriales 5-4 in 11 innings, to add their third win in a row in the playoffs between the two and place themselves one win away from the semifinals.

After winning a couple of times at their Guillermón Moncada headquarters, the eastern side defeated Industriales at their own ground of the Latinoamericano stadium, scoring a run in the eleventh inning on a sacrifice fly that defined the game.

Meanwhile, Cocodrilos de Matanzas defeated the Alazanes de Granma in a thrilling 8-7 game to put the quarterfinal playoff 2-0 in their favor.

The game had been stopped on Saturday due to rain.

Noervys Entenza again as a reliever underpinned the second smile of the Cocodrilos that places them in a very advantageous position in the playoff, which now moves to the Victoria de Girón stadium in Matanzas.

This Monday, the Cuban baseball playoffs will continue with four challenges: Las Tunas-Ciego 2-0, Matanzas-Granma 2-0), Sancti Spiritus-Pinar (1-1) and Santiago-Industriales (3-0).
