IOC names 15 Russian athletes for Paris Olympics

Moscow, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) The International Olympic Committee (IOC) published the final list of Russian athletes who will participate in the Paris 2024 Games in neutral status, informed the Russian organization.

According to the organization's official website, the list includes seven tennis players, three canoeists, three cyclists, one gymnast and one swimmer.

The tennis players are Daniil Medvedev, Roman Safiullin, Ekaterina Aleksandrova, Mirra Andreeva, Pavel Kotov, Diana Shnaider and Elena Vesnina.

In addition, the list includes canoeists Zakhar Petrov, Alexey Korovashkov and Olesia Romasenko, cyclists Tamara Dronova, Alena Ivanchenko and Gleb Syritsa, gymnast Angela Bladtseva and swimmer Evgeni Somov. In December 2023 the IOC announced that athletes from Russia and Belarus will only be allowed to participate in Paris 2024 with neutral status, without a national flag and national anthem, and will not appear in the official medal list or attend the opening gala and, moreover, will not be allowed to speak in favor of Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
