Cuban president receives paralympic athletes upon return to Havana from Paris

Havana, September 10 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel received this Monday, on the runway of the José Martí International Airport, the delegation that represented the country at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

The Cuban delegation, headed by Omara Durand, the 11-time champion in these events, obtained six titles in the French capital, three silver medals and one bronze medal that gave the Island a meritorious 24th place among the participating countries.

On Tuesday, they will be officially welcomed at the Ciudad Deportiva, from where they will depart for a tour of several institutions, including the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), the special school Solidaridad con Panamá, the Cuban International Tobacco Company (ICT) and the EIDE Mártires de Barbados.   (Source: ACN)
