Lamine Yamal
Rome, Oct 17 (PL) FC Barcelona and Spanish national team striker Lamine Yamal is today the main favorite to win the Golden Boy 2024 award, considered the Ballon d'Or for players under 21 years of age.
Yamal, 17, is the youngest of the 25 candidates presented by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, sponsor of the award, which also includes Portugal's Joao Neves (PSG), and Argentina's Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United).
After his display of great talent at Euro 2024 at just 16 years of age, Lamine has continued to rise in his valuation, both from the point of view of fans, coaches, and the press, as well as financially, as the specialized site Transfermarkt has raised his value as a player to over 150 million dollars.
This is a figure surpassed only by France's Kylian Mbappé, Norway's Erling Haaland, Brazil's Vinicius Jr. and England's Jude Bellingham, the latter winner of the previous edition of the Golden Boy.
