Nicaragua and Cuba to open Series of the Americas Baseball Championship

Managua, Dec 18 (PL) The clash between the teams of Cuba and Nicaragua will inaugurate, at the Soberania National Stadium, the first Baseball Series of the Americas scheduled for January 24-30.

The president of the Association of Baseball Leagues of the Americas (ABAM), David Salayandia, assured that it will be a very competitive tournament because countries with a long trajectory in baseball will attend.

In a press conference, the head of ABAM highlighted the quality of the infrastructure and the grounds of the Nicaraguan stadiums for the development of this series that will also bring together teams from Curacao, Colombia, Argentina, and Panama.

Salayandia thanked the Nicaraguan authorities and the Government of this Central American nation for hosting this tournament, which will be held in Panama in 2026 and in Colombia in 2027.

According to information, this first meeting of the Baseball Series of the Americas will be held at the Soberanía National Stadium in the city of Managua, the Roberto Clemente Stadium in Masaya, and the Rigoberto López Pérez Stadium in León.

According to the official schedule of the games, the team Leñadores de Las Tunas, reigning national baseball champion of Cuba, will face Panama on January 25 and then will play against Curacao (26); Colombia (27), and Argentina (28).
