Diablos Rojos

Havana, Mar 13 (JIT) - Cuban players were key in Diablos Rojos Femenil's first 14x0 knockout win over reigning champions Charros de Jalisco Femenil in the semifinal phase of the II Mexican Professional Softball League 2025.

Visiting the Estadio Panamericano, the "Pandilla Escarlata" (Scarlet Gang) won comfortably on a night of two home runs, a six-run and five-run rally, and a great pitching performance.

Granma's first baseman and first batter Leannelys Zayas and American Jazmyn Jackson (three RBIs) were part of the offensive party of 14 hits. Each hit solo home runs.

This excellent performance by the red squad included a good turnaround by all the starting hitters, and that led to 21 runs batted in.

Along with this solid performance on offense, Diablos Rojos Femenil had an airtight performance by American starter Megan Faraimo (4.0 innings) and Cuban relievers Yilián Tornés (2.0), and Yamelkis Guevara (1.0), who combined to build this shutout of just three hits allowed.

The visiting team took the lead in the first inning with Zayas' home run and widened the gap in the third inning with a five-run rally, including a run scored by Guantanamo outfielder Elizabeth Robert.

Diablos continued to attack in the fourth inning with Jackson's solo home run.

In the sixth they added another run on a sacrifice fly by Robert and closed with a devastating rally in the seventh inning. Jackson hit a single that drove in two runs, one of them scored by Zayas.

Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, Sultanes Femenil won by a final score of 10x2 against Bravas de León.

These pairings will give the winner to the best team in five games. The two winning clubs will play in the final or Queen's Series, starting on the 18th.
