Canberra, 22 ene (RHC) El tenista suizo Roger Federer llegó hoy a los 300 triunfos en torneos de Grand Slam tras vencer al búlgaro Grigor Dimitrov en la tercera ronda del Abierto de Australia.
Luego de dos horas y 40 minutos de juego, el dueño de 17 títulos en torneos de Grand Slam, superó por 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 y 6-4 a Dimitrov. Solo la estadounidense de origen checo Martina Navratilova, con 306 victorias, prevalece al registro del suizo, el primer hombre que llega a esa cifra en la Era Open.
El exnúmero uno del mundo abrió su lista de triunfos en torneos de Grand Slam en el año 2000, precisamente, en el Abierto de Australia, donde se impuso al estadounidense Michael Chang.
De acuerdo con lo previsto, en los cuartos de final Federer se medirá al belga David Goffin, verdugo del austríaco Dominic Thiem.
