St. Louis, October 10 (RHC)-- Political analysts across the United States came out swinging on Monday, calling Sunday night's presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump the worst in U.S. history. According to some reports from Capital Hill, the two U.S. presidential candidates scored big points when it came to mud-slinging, but scored almost zero when it came to substantial foreign policy.
The 90-minute debate got off to a chilly start when the two candidates for the November 8th election greeted each other without the traditional handshake.
Trump had to apologize again for the recently-released tapes showing him bragging about sexual assault and talking about groping women and “doing whatever you want” to them “when you are a star.” He dismissed it as “locker room talk” which his supporters have been arguing since the tapes release Friday.
Just hours before the debate, he had met with three women who had accused Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct and a fourth woman who was a victim in a rape case that Hillary Clinton participated in as a defense attorney.
A number of Republicans have now withdrawn their support for Donald Trump over the explicit video. The controversy has pitched Trump into the biggest crisis of his 16-month-old campaign and deepened the divide between him and establishment Republicans.
